WHAT IS THE COLORADO LATINO FESTIVAL?

In 2016 Barrio E’ and the Latino Chamber joined forces to bring you the Colorado Latino Festival (#latinxfest) in downtown Longmont Colorado. The festival would serve as a vehicle with many purposes including showcasing the myriad of cultures found throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and the Continental U.S.. The event would also serve as a  resource for Latinos and other minorities looking for work and career  opportunities, looking for information on economic development, philanthropy, civic engagement and more.

The Colorado Latino Festival aims to become the largest Latino & Caribbean cultural event in the state. In 2016, the event attracted more than 7,000 physical attendees and over 15,000 in 2017. In partnership with Telemundo Denver, 2018 will another significant increase in its attendance numbers that cannot be ignored, with TV reach in the hundreds of thousands weekly leading to the event.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE EVENT?

#latinxfest is a fun family oriented event with special attractions, musical acts, cultural offerings and some of the most delicious Latin American cuisine found in Colorado. The festival attracts ongoing local and national media coverage through partners like Boulder Weekly, Latin Life Denver, Telemundo, NBC and the Associated Press.

The event celebrates the diversity and contributions of Latin American and Caribbean people in the entire continent. With over 33 nations included and hundreds of customs, culinary varieties, musical buffet and genetic makeup, Latin American and the Caribbean is as diverse as it comes. The Latino Festival is that opportunity for people of Colorado and surrounding states to come and learn about those varieties and celebrate them as one.

In 2018, #latinxfest will focus on unity since previous years proved to be though years for Latinos in the U.S.. We will be celebrating as a large family and want our attendees to know and feel supported, welcomed and included. We will be working with many local jurisdictions to enforce safety and inclusion. Our cities are a large asset and want our attendees to know that local policies will continue to be in place and or amended to make sure our residents feel part of our communities.

WHAT DOES IT CELEBRATE?

The Latino Festival celebrates the richness and diverse culture and contributions of Latin American and Caribbean people who live in Colorado. The festival provides a space for a wide array of artistic and cultural performances, gastronomy, resources, education and much more.
